History

Pembrokeshire Motor Club was formed in 1947.

The club ran hillclimbs in it's early days at Lydstep Haven Hill which was a private road leading to a holiday village. When this was sold the new owners withdrew permission to use the venue. From the 1950's until the early 80's the club ran sprint events at the old Talbenny Airfield. In the late 70's a rally cross course was developed at Talbenny and it became one of the premier circuits in the U.K. for rally cross with rounds of the British Rally Cross Championship being held at the venue. Events in the British Rally Cross championship were broadcast regularly by the B.B.C. on Sunday Grandstand. In the late 70's and early 80's the club also ran a round of the Welsh Road Rally Championship with the Harrison Allen Rally.

PMC is a member of the Welsh Association Of Motor Clubs (WAMC), the umbrella organisation for all motor clubs in Wales.

We are also a member of Motorsport UK , the governing body that oversees all four wheel motorsports in the UK.
